- Get Ready For Work
- Get Ready for Work provides skills training and work placements for people aged 16-19 who are finding it difficult to get into training, learning and jobs. The programme gives participants the help they need to prepare for the world of work. It also pays them a training allowance
- Training For Work
- Training for Work provides vocational training support for people aged 18 or over who have been unemployed for some time and actively looking for work. The programme allows people to undertake vocational training linked to local labour market opportunities, enabling individuals to secure and sustain employment.
- Skillseekers
- Skillseekers is a vocational training programme for young people who want to develop skills and equip themselves for the world of work. It’s open to people who have left school and have a job or who are looking for work. People aged between 16 and 19 can take part in the programme. However, the Scottish Government indicated in the recent ‘Skills for Scotland’ Strategy that the Skillseekers programme would be phased out in Scotland as the Modern Apprenticeships programme is extended to S/NVQ Level 2 (SCQF 5).
- Modern Apprenticeships
- Modern Apprenticeships offer people aged over 16 the chance of paid employment linked with the opportunity to train for jobs at craft, technician and management level. This website includes a range of material on how apprenticeships work and how they can help you
