TRAINING BEYOND SCHOOL OR COLLEGE

There are four National Programmes that let you train and be paid at the same time.

Get Ready For Work

...provides skills training and work placements for people aged 16-19 who are finding it difficult to get into training, learning and jobs. The programme offers you the help you need to prepare for the world of work. It also pays a training allowance. Find out more about Get Ready For Work.

Training For Work

...provides vocational training support for people aged 18 or over who have been unemployed for some time and actively looking for work. The programme lets you do vocational training linked to local labour market opportunities, helping you to secure and keep employment. Find out more about Training for Work.

Skillseekers

...a vocational training programme for young people who want to develop skills and equip themselves for the world of work. It's open to people between 16 and 19 who have left school and have a job or who are looking for work. Find out more about Skillseekers.

Modern Apprenticeships

...offer people over 16 the chance of paid employment linked with the opportunity to train for jobs at craft, technician and management level. Find out more about Modern Apprenticeships.
