The college timetable is different from the school timetable, and so you will have to talk with your teachers about whether a course will 'fit' into your timetable. Remember that you will need to travel to college, and this takes time.
Getting things organised!
Some things to bear in mind:- While you are attending school, courses can only be organised through your school teacher
- There is a limited number of places available for each course. The listing of a course does not necessarily guarantee its current availability
- S2 pupils will find some courses available in their Course Planning information for S3
- S4 pupils who will be leaving at Christmas of S5 may consider 'Winter Leavers' courses at college as an option.
- There are also 'Opportunities for Early Leavers' courses available at some colleges. You will find that some courses are specifically for these categories of pupil, and not open to all pupils.
It's wise to look at the possible levels of course that are available - are you able to progress to higher levels of qualification? To find out more about this look at the list of courses organised by curriculum area.
Now that you are considering working somewhere other than school, with people you may not have met before it might be useful to think about how you cope with Group Work by completing a questionnaire. Being good at working in groups is important for working life as well as school.
