- Curriculum for Excellence is designed to help you get skills for life, skills for learning and skills for work.
- A new range of courses are being introduced for you in S3 upwards which aim to provide pupils with skills for work.
- From S2 onwards you need to be aware of new possibilities which may become available.
COLLEGES - delivering courses for skills for work
- Colleges are best placed to deliver most skills for work courses.
- Only some of these courses are available as part of the school college provision.
- Each college has its own range of courses and arrangements with schools.
- Some courses happen at college and others are taught by college staff in school.

CAREERS SCOTLAND - supporting the development of careers
- Careers Scotland supports people of any age at any stage in the process of becoming employed.
- They also provides advice to pupils in school through their Careers Advisers.
SQA - determining the qualifications
- SQA stands for the Scottish Qualifications Authority, the organisation responsible for all the courses, examinations, qualifications and certificates.
