Sociology is for anyone who is interested in people. Students will learn about the influence different parts of society have on individuals and groups and about the methods of research in social sciences. The course also investigates ways in which ideas change over time. Topics include class stratification, crime and deviance, the family and mass media. There are three assessments across the year and a final examination. Candidates must have a Credit pass in Standard Grade English and one other pass, preferably in a Social Science subject or the Intermediate 2 Sociology. (2008) |
