This course is delivered over two years and the main aim of the course is to learn about the Sport and Recreation industry through practical activities. The course will allow you to experience different sports and activities. Participate in outdoor pursuits and fitness. Learn how to set up, take down and maintain equipment. Understand accident and emergency procedures and also undertake visits to a variety of sports facilities. You will also develop employability skills and skills for working with others through undertaking the Sports Leader UK Junior Sports Leader Award and by participating in a short work experience. The course is suitable for all pupils who have an interest in following a career in the Sport and Recreation industry. All applicants will undergo an interview by college staff before being accepted on the course. (2008) |
