Notes

The Higher Psychology Course is designed to stimulate curiosity, enjoyment and opportunities for self-development. The study of psychology has unique potential to promote the development of cognitive, emotional and social skills which will enhance study activity, self-awareness, and conceptual understanding of issues of personal relevance. These are transferable skills of value in both personal and professional contexts, and it is intended that the Higher Course promotes these skills. It is a one-year course and has three units: Investigating Behaviour, Understanding the Individual and the Individual in the Social Context. There are three assessments across the year, a research investigation and a final examination. Candidates must have a credit pass in Standard Grade English and one other credit pass preferably in a Social Science subject or Intermediate 2 Psychology. (2008)
